Wollastonite (CaSiO3)
With multiple industrial applications, wollastonite is known as an 'ecological mineral' due to its ability to reduce CO2 emissions by decreasing fossil fuel consumption. It is used in the glass, ceramics and steel industries, as well as in the cement industry and as an additive in paints.
COMPAÑÍA MINERA ILUSTRACIÓN
Established in late 1997 (Crimidesa acquired the company in 2001), with this company we exploit the largest recognized wollastonite deposit in Europe. The deposit is located in Aldea del Obispo, in the Spanish region of Salamanca, very close to the border with Portugal.
